Alberta Based
Aboriginal Student Resource
Prospective students and their families can use the tool to find information on the 286 different academic programs designed for Aboriginal students and other helpful resources available at Canadian universities, such as financial assistance, housing, cultural activities, counselling, availability of Elders, gathering spaces and mentoring.
Alberta Online Encyclopedia
This web portal was designed by the Heritage Community Foundation to bring Alberta to the world and the world to Alberta. The digital resource consits of over 80 websites and it makes learning about the historical, natural, cultural, scientific, and technological heritage of Alberta fun. The website includes the history of Alberta, a calendar of events, and questions and answers.
Alberta North
Alberta North is committed to providing education for northern communities. Its vision is that Northern learners will have affordable and equitable access to university and college level educational and training opportunities and to quality services to succeed.
Battle River Training Foundation (BRTF)
BRTF helps rural Albertans access college credit and other training courses in Flagstaff and surrounding counties.
Community Development and Planning
There are community development and planning educational opportunities in Alberta. Universities and Colleges offer programs and courses that give students the tools they need to improve the social, political, and economic welfare of people and communities and the structures that support them. Canadian-Universities.net is a website where individuals can go to learn more about the available opportunities and the institutions that offer them. It also offers other information about Alberta and Canada’s post-secondary institutions.
Community Learning Network
This network provides leadership, resources and connections to Alberta’s Community Adult Learning Councils (CALCs). The CALCs address the part time, non-credit learning needs of adults within specified geographic boundaries.
eCampus Alberta
eCampusAlberta is a partnership of 15 Alberta colleges and technical institutes, which was established in 2002 to facilitate greater access to high quality online learning opportunities. Here there is access to 400 online courses and 30 provincially accredited online certificate, diploma, and applied degree program.
Government of Alberta – Alberta Learning Information Service (ALIS)
ALIS is the provincial gateway for Albertans to plan and achieve education and career success. It provides information for career planning, post-secondary education and training, educational funding, job search, labour market trends, and workplace issues.
Grand Prairie Regional College - Continuing Education
Continuing Education at GPRC offers a wide variety of safety, industrial, business, and computer courses designed to prepare individuals for the array of employment options found in the Peace Region and beyond. They help fulfill the occupational and personal aspirations of their students.
Innovative Communities Connecting and Networking (iCCAN)
iCCAn is a projects that creates access to learning through networked videoconference sites across Alberta.
LearnAlberta
This is a website that provides online learning resources directly tied to what Alberta students are learning in the classroom. Accessible anytime, anywhere, in both English and French, the LearnAlberta.ca website creates a unique learning environment that can help students in and out of class.
Literacy Alberta
Literacy Alberta is a not-for-profit charitable coalition working to raise literacy rates in Alberta.
Master of Business Administration in Community Economic Development
Available through NAIT, the MBA in CED offers a leading edge curriculum that includes all business subjects found in traditional MBA programs, and it also covers economic development, leadership, governance, and management of change.

The only one-stop shopping place in the Edmonton region where you can find a wide array of training opportunities for nonprofit organizations staff and board members.
Workforce Development - Northern Lakes College
Workforce Development responds to the training and development needs of individual learners, employers, and their communities. Employment preparation and work skills enhancement will boost your competitive edge in business or the job market. Course topics range from computers to teamwork and everything in between.

Community Education Videos and Tools
The Community Development Institute at University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is pleased to extend its information sharing and knowledge mobilization tools. Sharing information and supporting educational outreach are two of the cornerstones of UNBC’s work. In this new section of educational videos and companion tools the university brings these tasks together.
This site offers mostly non credit courses online from various post-secondary institutions.
Fanshawe College
This college is located in Ontario at multiple locations. They offer regular full time, part time, and continuing education courses. Students have the option to choose between 100 programs leading to certificates, diplomas and degrees.
Northern Development
This site provides access to on demand webinars as well as funding opportunities.
