March 26, 2012Portage College Officially Launches Water Resource Training Centre

Portage College is passionate about water and realizes it is an important resource. The college has ambitious plans to build two facilities within the County of Lac La Biche, which would offer cutting-edge training for managing and using water.
Portage College has recently developed two new programs: one for training water and wastewater treatment operators for Alberta Environment Certification, and the otherfor SAGD oil and gas operations.
Portage College’s first Water & Wastewater Operators course “Potable and Wastewater Systems Management” has been conditionally approved as “Mandatory Entry-Level Training) by Alberta Environment & Water.
